Air and Sea: GE Employees See Blue Angels and Tour a Navy Destroyer

GE Employees celebrated our 100-year anniversary with a trip to see the The Blue Angels, who fly F/A-18’s powered by GE’s F404 engines, and Ingalls Shipbuilding, who makes many of the ships powered by GE’s marine engines, which had its shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss.

Bell unveils new helicopter powered by GE’s T901

The U.S. Army has begun formal planning for a Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA). In April, the Army chose five aircraft manufacturers to compete in the FARA competitive prototype program. At the end of this design phase, two teams will be selected to build flyable prototypes which will incorporate GE Aviation’s T901 engine.

Powered by GE’s YT706, Sikorsky’s S-97 Raider Shows Off its Agility

Sikorsky hosted the inaugural flight demonstration of its S-97 Raider™ at its West Palm Beach flight test center. The S-97 Raider, a high-speed coaxial helicopter (possesses a clutched rear propeller to make it go fast or shut off in hover) powered by a single GE YT706 engine, smoothly demonstrated both top-end speed and agility.
